A packed house at the Capitol Centre truly felt the spirit of Christmas Tuesday night as the 21st Annual Haleyfest opening night officially got underway.

Tonight marked the first of first of two great nights of holiday entertainment and once again community personality Dennis Chippa took on the role of Artistic Director/Emcee and set a celebratory tone by slipping on a tux and some festive headgear.

In 1986 former Mayor Stan Lawlor named the annual concert “Haleyfest” in honour of former North Bay Fire Chief Art Haley as a tribute to Mr. Haley’s dedication to the Santa Fund.

The two nights will feature new and old favourite Christmas carols preformed by twelve talented school and community choirs, as well as the music stylings of Jason Brock and the 22-Wing Band Quartet.

The concert resumes Wednesday December 5th at 6:30pm. Tickets are only $4 each and can be purchased at the Capitol Centre Box Office. Everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the North Bay Food Bank.
