UPDATE: Man arrested. (Possible gunman holed up at corner of Cassells and King)

There are conflicting statements amongst neighbours and witnesses about a possible gun inside the apartment. 

Update: 6:20 p.m. Incident has ended peacefully.

Update 6 p.m. Police have entered the building through a side door.

Police have one man under arrest. Another is still believed inside the building.

Original story:

City police are on the scene of a standoff between police and a man believed to be holding a gun in an upstairs apartment in a 5-plex at the corner of King And Cassells Streets. (1189 Cassells)

The incident started around 4:15. and the landlord of the building, Roger Guillemette, confirmed to BayToday that the man inside was his tenant and was 55 to 57 years old.

There are conflicting statements amongst neighbours and witnesses about a possible gun inside the apartment. 

Police have guns drawn.

Witnesses say the man's girlfriend was arrested by police prior to this incident.

People are being told to stay off Cassells St.
