Organizers were impressed with the turnout Sunday morning for the North Bay Terry Fox Run.
Carla Tucker, an organizer for the North Bay Terry Fox Run says they have about 180 attendees with close to 20 volunteers.
"Money raised yesterday was $12,822 and it will continue to grow over the next couple of weeks," Tucker said.
Since 1982, Tucker says North Bay has raised $560,000 for the cause.
As part of the annual run, CTS School of Massage Therapy, gave out free massages, while The Studio warmed everyone up for the run.
Tucker says they are predicting that more than $6 million for cancer research has been raised by Ontario communities which is an increase over 2022.
The annual Terry Fox Run has become a fall tradition in Canada, with more than 650 communities, big and small, urban and rural, English and French, fundraising for cancer research.
