North Bay Downtown Farmers’ Market Opens for Summer Season!

North Bay residents will soon be able to wander through tables of locally produced bedding plants, fruits & vegetables and unique handmade goods which will be for sale. The 2010 season for the North Bay Downtown Farmers’ Market begins Saturday May 22nd, with more than 30 LOCAL vendors. Derek Morin (local singer/musician) will be at the Market on opening day.

Beginning May 22nd, the market will be open every Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.– RAIN or SHINE through the middle of October at the McIntyre St. parking lot across from City Hall, just behind TD Canada Trust on Main St.

Many exciting things are happening at the Downtown Farmers’ Market this year including the Pancake Festival, which will be held May 29th!

Join Dave Matthews of Matthews Maple Syrup for a great breakfast or lunch. Pancakes will be just a loonie each and all proceeds help support the Market. Come out and listen to local band Stack of Barley who will be playing at the Market during the Pancake Festival May 29th.

Buy your drinks or snacks from the North Bay Downtown Farmers’ Market Booth. All proceeds go towards making the dream of a future permanent home for North Bay’s Downtown Farmers’ Market come true.

Once the season gets going there will be other Special Events to watch for including:

Strawberry Festival - June 26
Canada Day Celebration - July 3
Corn Festival - August 14
Harvest Festival - September 18
Customer Appreciation Day - October 9
