The police annual public auction takes place in the rear parking lot of police headquarters, on Princess Street West on Saturday.

A preview will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. and the auction itself will begin at 9.

Throughout the year, the police seize property items, such as tools, clothing and jewelry, as a result of criminal investigations.

As well, members of the public will regularly report abandoned items, such as bicycles, or they will bring in found items to police headquarters.

The North Bay Police Service disposes of property items that are not claimed by their owners on an annual basis by public auction.

All proceeds go to the North Bay Police Service Board, which in turn uses the funds to provide donations to local charities and events.
