'Give us a single school board' say readers to candidates, new poll

It appears there is strong support for a single school board to replace four existing ones in the North Bay area. A total of 538 respondents participated.

It appears there is strong support for a single school board to replace four existing ones in the North Bay area.

A total of 538 respondents participated.

To the question, “What is your number one school board issue?” 42% indicated that reducing education costs by have just one school board was top of their mind.

A distant runner-up was improving basic skills like reading, writing and math at 17%.

In third with 11% was more focus on skilled trades with 11%.

Declining enrollment got 8% of the votes.

Our new question, which you can vote on now by going to “Today’s Poll” at the bottom of our main page, will focus on what taxpayers would be willing to sacrifice to keep taxes from rising during the next year.
