News Release

Tree North Bay, North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority, TD Friends of the Environment and a number of volunteers are partnering up again this weekend to work towards a greener and more beautiful City.

Focusing on Chippewa Creek and the Bike path they plan to plant about 50 trees to help stabilize the creek banks, make a more attractive entrance to the city and
add some future shade along the bike path with a mix of maples, spruce, linden, cedar and flowering crab apple trees - all purchased from local suppliers.

TD Friends of the Environment generous sponsorship of $5,000 this year will make a long lasting green investment in trees to be enjoyed by the community for years to come.

Each of the new trees will be marked with a bright green tag to show the were planted by volunteers interested in helping our community's greening efforts.

For anyone who would like to help, digging and planting starts at the corner of Duke and Fisher Streets Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. or call 474-1532 for information.
