Friends of La Vase Portages will be hosting their annual Canoe Night on Friday, April 20, 7:00 p.m. at the Nipissing University Theatre.

The feature presentation will be from Meredith Brown of Ottawa River Keepers talking about their efforts to protect the heritage and natural beauty of the Ottawa River.

Bob Olajos, with the Friends of Temagami, will also be taking about recent efforts to protect the Wolf Lake area from mining and forestry pressures.

Friends of La Vase Portages will update current issues and progress along the local heritage portage route including the currently proposed Highway 17 realignment.

Paul Chivers will talk about the images and the story behind "Northern Shores" the recent Kiwanis publication in support of One Kid's Place Children's Treatment Center.

Should be a great evening to hear about local canoeing issues and see some great canoeing photography.
