Freezing rain will begin late this morning or early Tuesday afternoon.
Some areas may see a brief period of snow before the freezing rain begins. Freezing rain accretion of 2 to 5 mm is possible on untreated surfaces. Freezing rain will change to snow Tuesday evening or overnight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Utility outages may occur.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Beware of branches or electrical wires that could break under the weight of ice.
