Free info session for West Nipissing non-profits

A funding information session will be held next week for West Nipissing non-profit organizations.

The rural development officers for the Blue Sky Region, thru a partnership with the Volunteer Centre of the Blue Sky Region, will hold a funding info-session for interested non-profit organizations at the West Nipissing Public Library, in Sturgeon Falls, on May 12th from 9:30 am to noon. The session is free!

The RDOs are an initiative of the Foundation for Rural Living to assist the Volunteer Centre, its member agencies and other interested Blue Sky non-profits with their fundraising goals.

The info-session will include:

- fundraising capacity mini-audit to be completed during the session – this audit will introduce concepts that enhance fundraising ability (ex. the keeping of donor records, the creation of a fundraising strategy);

- distribution of relevant funding source information;

- hard-copy handouts of several grant proposal self-assessment tools; and
a dedicated period of time for an open forum where agencies can share funding concerns with the RDOs and each other. Both an analysis of the completed mini-audits and a summary package of the session will be created and returned to participating agencies.
