Four new fires reported in the region

There were four new fires reported in the East Fire Region within the last 24 hours, one each in Sudbury, North Bay, Cochrane and Kirkland Lake districts.

There are 19 active fires within the region. For more information please click here to view the active fires map.

The fire hazard within the East Fire Region will begin to drop down to low later tonight and into tomorrow as rain moves eastward across the region.

Residents are reminded to take all necessary precautions when working or participating in recreational activities in forested areas. Be careful with all outdoor fires, including brush fires and campfires
this year.
