A young woman from North Bay is getting ready to shake up the tech industry in England.

Kayla Herbert is the founder and managing director of Branswer, the world’s only company specializing in digital branding services.

Her company's unique “Brander” software is described as an easy tool intended to help small/medium enterprises (SMEs) and charities think about their brand and build mission statements, press releases and competitor analysis.

Herbert was the recipient of an Exceptionally Talented Visa from Tech Nation (UK) for her international expertise in digital marketing and communications.

Now based in England, Kayla is proud of her North Bay roots.

She graduated from St. Joseph-Scollard Hall before going on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at McGill University.

She says she got her start in marketing while working for the Gathering Place in North Bay.

“I was inspired by what I learned there and since then I’ve gone on to work with a range of international businesses including SMEs, technology companies and charities,” said Herbert.

She hopes that her work in England can connect back to her hometown.

“I’d like to give back to the community by offering something unique: an accessible and easy way to understand their brand and marketing. With our software, we’re hoping to bring an awareness of how powerful branding can be. It’s only when you know the real value in what you offer and learn how to communicate it in an authentic way that you can start to build solid relationships with your customers.”

Brander, which can be pre-ordered from their Kickstarter page, comes with a range of features including a vision statement and competitor analysis.
