Temperatures are forecast to fall rapidly this afternoon.

Ponding water, slush, and any falling precipitation will freeze as the temperature drops.

Sudden icy conditions on roads and walkways will occur. A brief period of freezing rain is also expected this afternoon.

A dramatic change in temperatures will occur this afternoon with the passage of a sharp cold front. Temperatures will go from well above freezing to below freezing within a few hours this afternoon. During the transition from rain to snow, some areas may see a brief period of freezing rain and ice pellets.

In addition, snowfall amounts of up to 5 cm are expected by this evening. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions.
