Icy conditions continue in the region as Environment Canada has issued a Flash Freeze warning for the North Bay, Powassan and Mattawa areas late Monday afternoon.

"Rapidly falling temperatures and potentially icy conditions tonight," the EC warning stated.

"After a relatively mild evening, temperatures are forecast to fall rapidly tonight to go well below the freezing mark in the wake of a sharp Arctic cold front. Rain is forecast to rapidly transition to snow and then come to an end before morning."

Environment Canada believes falling snow or lingering water or slush on roads and sidewalks is likely to rapidly freeze resulting in potentially icy conditions.

"Motorists should be prepared for poor winter driving conditions tonight. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," the alert stated.
