A group of former North Bay Major Midget AAA Trappers will be heading out of town to play junior ‘A’ and junior ‘B’ respectively this season.

Brothers Clark and Ethan Allair from Temagami, are reuniting this coming season in Sarnia with the Jr B Legionnaires of the GOJHL.

Clark Allair played last season with the NOJHL’s Elliot Lake Wildcats where the big defenceman scored 7 goals and added 24 assists in 54 games with the Wildcats.

Clark Allair was also a 4th round pick of the Owen Sound Attack in the 2017 U18 OHL Priority Selection.

Ethan Allair, who had 10 goals and 21 assists with the North Bay Major Midget AAA Trappers last season, was a first-round pick by the Sarnia Sting in the 2018 U18 OHL Priority Selection.

Clark Allair joined the Legionnaires - who are an affiliate team of the Sarnia Sting - in a trade in early June.

Meantime, another local Sarnia Sting draft pick, Cole Craft, has committed to play for the Rockland Nationals of the CCHL (Jr A) located in the Ottawa area.

The big forward, who was an 8th round pick of the Sting in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, had 21 goals along with 29 assists for 50 points in 36 games with the North Bay Major Midget AAA Trappers last season.

Craft also played four games as an affiliate player with the Powassan Voodoos.

Craft's teammate Dylan Bond will be against each other in the CCHL as Bond joins the Kemptville 73's.

The 2016 13th round pick of the Saginaw Spirit in the OHL Priority Selection started the season in Elmira Jr B in the GOJHL and joined Powassan Voodoos in the fall before finishing the year back with the Major Midget AAA Trappers where he had 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points in 5 games to end the year with the Trappers.

Closer to home, North Bay Trappers leading scorer Nick Davis has signed with the Rayside-Balfour Canadians of the NOJHL.

The 18-year-old had a stellar season of midget hockey with the Trappers as he led the team and the Great North Midget League overall in scoring with 32 goals and 24 assists for 56 points in 34 games last season.

Davis was a fourth-round pick of the North Bay Battalion in the 2017 U18 OHL Priority Selection.
