Despres and Brenda Walsh from Active Running & Therapy Centre recently presented Jan Vandermeer, President of the North Bay Nordic Ski Club with a cheque for $452.79.The funds were raised Sunday, October 29, 2006 during the inaugural Active Running & Therapy Centre Trail Run. The race, the first of its kind in the area encouraging runners of all ages to venture through the beautiful Nordic trails, was a joint fundraiser for both the Nordic Club and the Alzheimer Society.
In order to give young runners some prep training for the school's cross-country season, officials are planning to host the 2007 trail run early in the year.
