North Bay Fire and Emergency Services member's expectations were once again exceeded with a total of 2,070 pounds of food and $3,215 collected Wednesday at the annual ‘Fill a Fire Truck with Food’ fundraiser at Parker’s Your Independent Grocer.

Fire Prevention Officer Chris Nichol said, “The generosity of our community is tremendous and North Bay Fire & Emergency Services looks forward each year to this annual event to help such a worthwhile cause while promoting Fire Prevention Week.”

This year’s theme, “Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen” ties in perfectly with the Food Bank as the fire department reminds everyone to stay alert when cooking, as kitchen fires continue to be the leading cause of house fires.

"Shout out to Parker’s YIG for their continued support and generosity and the North Bay Food Bank for the tireless service they provide," added Nichol.
