A late Sunday night fire caused some serious damage to a home on Main Street.

However, there were no injuries in the blaze at a home that was under renovations in the 500 block of Main Street.

The Fire Department got the call shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday night.

“We had heavy brown smoke showing from the second-floor windows, soffits in the roof and the masonry/chimney,” Platoon Chief Mike Newman told Rogers Radio.

Newman says they found heavy fire in the basement of the home but the firefighters were able to get the fire contained within 30 minutes.

“No persons were found in the home, it’s under renovation, nobody was living there at the time,” said Newman.

City fire prevention is investigating. The cause is still undetermined.

Damage is pegged at around $80,000.
