Halloween is that exciting time of year when ghosts and goblins hit the streets going door to door seeking candy the coveted prize for their costume efforts.

Some folks were so anxious for Halloween festivities to start that even grocery shopping was an occasion for showing off their Halloween attire.

And for some home owners ‘overboard’ only begins to describe front lawn decorations.

For North Bay Fire Department Halloween brings an opportunity to entertain the public and kids. For the past 4 days organizer Chris Cuthbertson NBFD member and other NBFD volunteers have been setting up the Fire hall on King Street to welcome young pirates and princesses to a ‘Spooktacular’ event.

Kids will have a chance to look at the Fire hall all Spooked up as well as a chance to say ‘Hi’ to the city on the local cable channel. Last year over 8,000 kids went through the hall and if the weather cooperates the number will grow. The event runs 5pm to 9pm Sunday.
