East Fire Region situation update for July 31st as of 9:30am

- No new fires in the region yesterday

- One Fire Behaviour Analyst assisting in British Columbia

There are currently no active fires in the East Fire Region.

The forest fire hazard in the East Fire Region is low to moderate.

Under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario day burning of brush or grass is not allowed. Burning of grass or brush may be done no sooner than two hours before sunset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise. Choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended. Remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leavi ng the site. If you live in a Municipality, check local bylaws for any burning restrictions that may apply.
