Fire ban remains in place for North Bay and Area

Due to the extremely dry weather conditions, North Bay Fire & Emergency Services is continuing the ban on all open burning for the City of North Bay.

We emphasize that this includes all those who are current permit holders.

The warm, dry and windy conditions which we are presently experiencing could prove disastrous for any type of burning.

There have already been several substantial wild land fires this month in our area and neighbours north of us are facing the possibility of an emergency evacuation due to fire.

Please use extreme caution outdoors as even a discarded cigarette could prove disastrous.

Those individuals found disobeying the ban will be charged and fined.

This restriction includes all of North Bay as well as Camp Island and similar areas on Trout Lake.

The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
