It was a long night for film crews at Memorial Gardens who wrapped up an 8:30 p.m. Sunday night to 10 a.m. Monday morning shoot for the Hallmark film “Love On Ice.”

Officials are tight lipped about the details of the scene shoots but Memorial Gardens south parking lot was crammed with trucks and trailers that were part of the film crew.

“We are filming the Hallmark’s ‘Love on Ice’ that’s about all I can tell you at this point,” stated Micheline Blais, the northern casting director for the film.

“We have a few more days on the show with extras. We are shooting until Friday between North Bay and Sturgeon Falls and we are looking for more people to participate. With that said, we are always looking for new faces. We have a few shows in the future that we don’t know when, and we are looking for a few new faces for the rest of the week too.”

The cast and crew were also looking to give back to North Bay as they gathered some non-perishable food items on Sunday for the North Bay Food Bank.

“Holiday season is around the corner and we always feel like when there’s this many people that come together, things can happen,” said Blais.

“So we asked all our extras to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food bank.”

Blais says the crew is impressed by the cooperation they are having with the area rinks in Sturgeon Falls and North Bay.

“I really want to thank the city of North Bay for making a lot of this possible on behalf of our production,” said Blais.

“We are filming a skating movie during peak hockey and figure skating season so their ability to make it work for our shoot around the hockey tournaments and skating competitions, we are really grateful so city of North Bay, thank you, all the people who run the arenas thank you and the extras who come out thank you very much for the support.”
