A federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of a breach of their statutory release has been arrested.
The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad says Cory Peterson was apprehended in Barrie.
Peterson is serving a four-year sentence for possession of a Schedule I and II substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Earlier this week, the squad sent out a news release saying the 56-year-old was known to frequent Barrie, Midland, North Bay, Sudbury, Blind River and Sault Ste Marie.
“The Provincial R.O.P.E. Squad would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this investigation,” it said in an update on Saturday.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad is asking for your help in catching a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of a breach of their statutory release.
Cory Peterson is described as:
- an Indigenous male,
- 56 years of age,
- 5'7" (170 cm) 176 lbs (80 kg)
- with thinning brown hair, a greying goatee and brown eyes.
- He has several tattoos, a Unicorn and Eagle Sun on his left arm. A skull and "FTW" on his upper right arm. He also has a Tiger and an Eagle head on his right arm. He has a Bear on his chest. He also has a tattoo on the left side of his neck.

He is known to frequent North Bay, Barrie, Sudbury, Midland, Blind River and Sault Ste Marie.
