Fedeli likes to talk numbers.

Today the incumbent PC candidate in Nipissing unveiled the fifth in his series of Focus on Finances books.

“It is the largest of my five books that I have authored and probably the most detailed and quite frankly the most intriguing, it really gets deep into the gas plant scandal and the subsequent trial and subsequent conviction of a Liberal insider as well,” said Fedeli from his new campaign office on the Lakeshore Drive overpass.

The new book can be downloaded for free here

While the book puts the Liberal governments handling of the gas plant under scrutiny, the local PC candidate understands that his challenge is not to overtake the Liberals, its to make sure the NDP do not pass the PC’s and win on election day.

“So what I would say quite frankly to both the Liberals and the NDP, you both have $7 billion holes, what cuts are you going to have to make to be able to honour all the commitments because they love to throw that all at us but here are two absolutely proven $7 billion holes in the Liberal and NDP budgets,” said Fedeli

From his door to door interaction, Fedeli believes people are starting to get a better understanding of the differences between all three parties.

“You can see that our party wants to put money back in the pockets of people,” he said.

“We want a 20 percent tax cut for the middle class. That is a big pocket of our people in that pocket.  So we are about lowering your taxes, lowering your hydro rates and lowering the price of gasoline.

“Those are the three big issues with us and you can contrast that with the others when the NDP has promised to increase taxes, they have promised to shutter Pickering Nuclear Plant which is only going to increase our Hydro rates and put 4,500 direct employees out of work.”

While Fedeli takes shots at the holes in the two budget platforms from the Liberals and NDP, the PC’s have felt the heat over not releasing their own costed platform.

However, Fedeli insists in a way they have.

“Every single benefit that we have offered to the people of Ontario has been costed. We have put a price tag on every single one of them so there are no surprises to what all these benefits to the people are going to cost,” said Fedeli.

Fedeli says they will utilize the Auditor General as a gauge.

“We will take her guideline on the efficiencies right across the board and we are going to look for four cents on every dollar,” he said.

“That is how we are going to pay for everything that we have promised.”
