Following yesterday’s news of a fatal accident that occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m.,, the North Bay Police Service notified the deceased’s next of kin.
The deceased was Mark Samuel, age 39, of East Ferris.
This motor vehicle collision incident is still under investigation by the North Bay Police with the assistance of the North East Region of the Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI).

Early this morning at approximately 5:40 a.m., a passing motorist called 911 to report seeing a car in a deep ditch off Mountain Road at Highway 94 in Callander.
Ambulance, fire and police arrived on scene to find a male driver, dead and still inside the vehicle.
Following an investigation, police report that this was a single vehicle collision.
The driver appeared to have left the road before colliding with a tree.
