Original story:

A fatal collision on Highway 124 last night has left an Ahmic Harbour man dead. The road remains closed.

OPP say that a southbound motor vehicle crossed the centre line striking a northbound motor vehicle at 7:24 p.m..

The driver of the southbound motor vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken hospital.  The driver of the northbound vehicle was identified as David Robb, 56  from Ahmic Harbour, just west of Sundridge. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A female passenger was taken hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 124 is closed from Grey Owl Road to Swords Road.  A detour is available via Balsam Road. The highway runs between South River and Parry sound.

The West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have been deployed to assist in this investigation.Police are asking anyone travelling on Highway 124 between the hours of 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. on the evening on January 16, and who may have information regarding this incident to contact the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or 705-746-4225.

The West Parry Sound OPP, McKellar Fire Department and Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services responded to the collision in McKellar Township.
