Farm tractor/car collision results in arrest

The driver of the farm tractor fled the scene prior to police arrival but was identified by witnesses

A farmer will be without his tractor at a critical time of the season.

West Parry Sound OPP have arrested and charged a man multiple times including for impaired driving as a result of a collision.

Yesterday morning officers responded to a report of a collision between a farm tractor and a motor vehicle on Highway 141 in Seguin Township. The driver of the farm tractor fled the scene prior to police arrival but was identified by witnesses.

As a result of the investigation, Ronald Rowe, 55, of Seguin, east of Parry Sound,is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired
  • Seven counts of operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Dangerous operation
  • Failure to stop after an accident
  • Fail to report an accident

Rowe was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 4. The farm tractor was impounded for 45 days.
