Great outdoor training for 204 Algonquin Army Cadet Corps as they participated in a large Fall Field Training Exercise this weekend at Halfway Lake Provincial Park.

204 Algonquin RCACC has been a part of the North Bay community for over 100 years. The aim of the Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, and promote physical fitness.

Four other army Cadet Corps: 2912, 2915, 2964 and 3133, from Sudbury to Burk's Falls also took part.

The cadets from all five corps had the opportunity to work together in various leadership and wilderness activities. They participated in canoeing, tent building, survival techniques and learned other practical skills that they will be able to utilize in future training. This training activity is one of many that takes place throughout the training year says a news release.

"Cadets learn to become active, responsible members of their communities," says Second Lieutenant Chelsea Rioux, Deputy Commanding Officer.
