Energy saving booklets have started to arrive in area mailboxes this week as part of the Every Kilowatt Counts Program.

John Jeza, Director, Mass Market Channels, Ontario Power Authority with assistance from MPP Monique Smith, Mayor Victor Fedeli, Jim Snyder, general manager of North Bay Hydro launched the fall campaign of the program Friday at the Home Depot.

The fall campaign program will be delivered to 4.58 million Ontario residences offering energy saving tips and money saving coupons to help reduce their energy consumption and save money this fall and winter.

Jeza says people making the small investment in energy saving tools this fall for products such as thermostats and dimmer switches, Christmas lights and light bulbs will see a return on the investment very quickly.

“For every 1°centigrade that you turn down your thermostat, or program your thermostat to drop down 1° centigrade for eight hours, you can save up to 1% on your energy bill.”

Jeza also says every home in the city will receive the book that offers forty-eight dollars in coupon product savings.

“With the discounts that we're offering you can save 10% on your energy bill in the winter time.”
