Ever wonder what it's like inside a Tiny house?

Tiny house to raise funds for the church roof

A “Tiny House Tour” tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon is a unique fundraiser to help pay for roof repairs at Trinity United Church in downtown North Bay.

The tiny house is now located at The Green Store, 3761 Trout Lake Road and tours will take place Sunday afternoon from 1 – 4.

A tiny house is a residential structure under 400 sq. ft.

Owners Kirk and Heather Ready will be there to answer questions and give tours.

Admission is $5 adults, $10 family with all proceeds to Trinity.

Tiny houses cost between $10,000 and $40,000 but the cost of upkeep is relatively low. You may need to pay for land rental and insurance, but in the long run, the savings on a tiny house are huge.

The proceeds will help a church that was founded in 1882.

That summer, the Rev. Silas Huntington, a Methodist Minister, arrived in North Bay and held his first service in a railway car, in a rock quarry west of Ferguson Street.

The current location on the corner of McIntyre and Ferguson is actually the church's third location.

Planning, and then the construction of a church “for the future” was underway in 1905 – 1907, and the capacity of the church far exceeded the requirements of the congregation of that time. The cost was $20,000.
