Mayor Al MacDonald made an official proclamation on behalf of the City of North Bay highlighting the importance of Patrick4Life’s educational programs and community building initiatives.

In the past 6 years Patrick4Life has reached out to students, grade 3 to 8 in the North Bay area, with their HIV/AIDS awareness program.

Patrick4Life firmly believes that youth have the power to make change happen.

“We are excited to unveil an all new event aimed squarely at secondary school students,” says Patrick’s brother Richard.

YouthFest 2012, taking place on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 is a concert event which will raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among 1, 000 secondary school students in the North Bay district.

The concert will be co-hosted by Juno-nominated singer Glenn Marais and members of Patrick4Life’s youth4youth committee, with a variety of musical performances, motivational speeches and elements of audience participation.

The objective of YouthFest 2012 is to make HIV and AIDS a relevant and timely topic among youth.

YouthFest 2012 is being planned by an exciting and diverse steering committee made up of student leaders, teacher champions, community members and Patrick4Life volunteers.

Our goal is to create an opportunity to talk about HIV and AIDS in a pro-active way that is sensitive, culturally relevant and interactive.

“The reason why I am doing this is because youth need to be engaged in the issues of our community and society”, youth4youth leader Matthew Robinson states.
