There was nothing jolly about this red vehicle.

On December 26, at approximately 5:30 p.m., OPP received two traffic complaints regarding a red Volkswagen Jetta driving erratically.

It was speeding and forcing other motorists to take evasive action to avoid a collision.  The suspect vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Highway 17 West in Greater Sudbury.

An OPP officer then saw the suspect vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 17 at a high rate of speed.

It wasn't long before the red Volkswagen was involved in a collision at the intersection of Paris and Regent Street in Sudbury.

Investigation revealed the vehicle collided with an SUV, causing the SUV to roll-over.

That collision also caused a light post to come down onto a nearby van.

In total, there were four vehicles involved in the collision.

With some help of some by-standers at the scene, a 33-year-old man from Sudbury was eventually arrested and taken into custody.

He was later taken to hospital and admitted with non-life threatening injuries.

The male driver of the SUV was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
