Weather advisory in effect for:

  • North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa
  • West Nipissing - French River

Winter weather travel advisory beginning early Wednesday morning.

Hazards:
Reduced visibilities due to snow at times heavy.
Local snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm, with higher amounts possible in some areas.

When:
Early Wednesday morning and afternoon.

Discussion:
Lake effect bands of snow are expected to develop off of Georgian Bay and affect the area.

Impacts:

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
