East Ferris Trade Show returns May 27

Entering its eighth year, the show is getting bigger all the time

On Saturday, May 27, the East Ferris Trade Show returns for its eighth year. All of the action takes place at the East Ferris Community Centre at 1267 Village Road, in Astorville, and admission is free. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Last year we had over 1,000 people attend,” explained Greg Kirton, East Ferris’ Director of Community Services. “Last year was our busiest one, and we’ve been building on it every year.”

The event also has a new website – eastferristradeshow.ca – which outlines the day’s events and allows people to register for a booth for next year’s show.

This year, 65 vendors signed up, so there will be lots to see. Most vendors are local, and the show provides a great opportunity for local businesses to network and make contacts in their region. Past vendors have included Degagne Carpentry, North Bay Plastic Molders, Sun Life, Timeless Staging, and many others.

The show is for everyone, Kirton emphasized, “it’s a great community event.” Attendees can meet with local businesses and get some information from the source.

Plus, food vendors will be on site, the kids can have their faces painted, and live music is on the agenda. There will be bubble soccer for the kids and a magic show to boot. Overall, expect a day of “family friendly fun.”
