BRACEBRIDGE - The Government of Canada is assisting Nipissing University’s Muskoka Campus in the establishment of a world-class e-learning facility. The announcement was made today by Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Health, Minister for FedNor and Member of Parliament for Parry Sound—Muskoka.

"Today's announcement will help accelerate the growth of Nipissing University's Muskoka Campus, creating unique educational opportunities and bolstering economic development activity throughout the region," stated Minister Clement. "By supporting information and communication technology infrastructure and investing in our youth and economic development, we are helping to build a brighter future for the Parry Sound—Muskoka region and across Northern Ontario."

The Government of Canada, through FedNor, is investing $461,751 toward the purchase of elearning technology infrastructure and equipment required for the electronic, multimedia education centre in Bracebridge.

“We are very excited about the positive impact this FedNor funding will have on our ability to establish a world-class e-learning centre at our Muskoka Campus,” said Dennis Mock, President and Vice-Chancellor of Nipissing University. “Today’s announcement will allow us to provide our students with the best possible facilities and educational resources to help them develop into the leaders of tomorrow.”
