West Nipissing police say they seized a number of drugs after investigating a sexual assault that occurred last Thursday.
A call came in that a woman was in danger and being held against her will at a River Valley home.
When police arrived they found the female victim visibly distraught. She told police she had been assaulted and that her attacker was dangerous.
The man was found within the home and was arrested.
While in the residence police saw controlled substances.
The couple were removed from the home while police obtained a search warrant.
When they arrived back and conducted a search, police seized cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, cannabis resin, MDMA, and drug paraphernalia.
The 57 year old River Valley resident now faces charges of possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, assault and sexual assault.
Police did not release the suspect's name.
