Drug bust in Cobalt

Two people have been arrested and police seized 66 methamphetamine pills, 57 percocet pills, 18 grams of cannabis marihuana, and $16,245 in cash.

On Tuesday, the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, North Bay Drug Unit supported by OPP Temiskaming Shores Detachment, executed a Search Warrant at a home in Cobalt, about a 90 minute drive north of North Bay.

As a result of this investigation two people have been arrested and police seized 66 methamphetamine pills, 57 percocet pills, 18 grams of cannabis marijuana, and $16,245 in cash. 

The estimated street value of the drugs is $1,410.

Catherine Thompson, 47, of Cobalt is charged with:

  • Possession of Cannabis Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking 
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 

She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Sheldon Ash, 21, of Cobalt is charged with:

  • Possession of Cannabis Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking 
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking 
  • Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 

He has been released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on February 23.
