Driver charged with impaired after hitting ditch

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been driving all over the road before taking the ditch.

On December 24, members of the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on South Shore Road at approximately 11:26 a.m

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been driven erratically all over the road before taking the ditch.  Officers detected an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath and the driver was arrested at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, Wayne Hollands, 77 years of age, of North Bay has been charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with more than 80mgs of Alcohol.

Hollands was released on a Promise to Appear to attend the Ontario Court of Justice North Bay on January 12, 2016

He was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7-days.
