Domestic dispute results in scissor attack

On August 16th, West Nipissing Police got a call from a man complaining that he was the victim of a domestic assault. He said that an argument started between himself and his girlfriend which escalated into a fight.

On August 16th, West Nipissing Police got a call from a man complaining that he was the victim of a domestic assault. 

He said that an argument started between himself and his girlfriend which escalated into a fight.

During the argument, the woman attacked him with a pair of scissors causing a cut to his hand. 

The victim tried to leave but was physically blocked. 

He finally managed to push his way out and call police. 

The 24 year old woman was later arrested and charged with two counts of Forcible Confinement, two counts of Assault With a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily harm, Assault, and 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

She was held in custody and brought to bail court the next day.

On August 15th, West Nipissing Police received a complaint in relation to a couple having property issues due to a recent break up. 

The officer was told that at one point, the accused male entered her home and broke a picture frame, a plaque and a remote control boat. 

The man later turned himself in and admitted to breaking the picture frame and plaque. 

He was arrested and charged with Mischief and later released on a Promise To Appear.

During the week of August 15th to 21st, the West Nipissing Police Service logged   225 calls for service. 

Among those were 43 9-1-1, 36 police assistance calls, five mischiefs, five noise complaints, four thefts, four alarms, three break and enters, two domestic disputes and two threats.

No names were released by police.
