The North Bay Police Service is today releasing the image of the towel found around the body of Baby Doe. The two-tone orange coloured towel has distinctive patterns both in the centre and the end borders. The centre pattern can be described as two sunflowers or sun bursts with a spiral contained within each one. The end pattern is a wavy line with two rows of “dime-size” dots within the undulations of the line. It measures approximately 24” by 48”. It could be a beach towel or large bath towel.

The image can viewed on the North Bay Police Service website at www.northbaypolice.on.ca. The image shown has been enhanced to improve the contrast between the field of the towel and the various patterns.

The pregnancy may have been hidden from family members. The family of the mother may have noticed behavioural changes in her. Prior to and during the Christmas holidays, she may have been avoiding activities and interaction with family. After the birth of the child, her initial fear may have subsided and she may have begun to return to her normal lifestyle. Since Friday when Baby Doe was found and with the public attention this is receiving, she may have become withdrawn and would offer little to no opinion as to finding of Baby Doe.

Anyone with information about Baby Doe is asked to call North Bay Police or Crime Stoppers.
