An old subject will get another look tonight at city council under the new format.

Councillors sliced the number of meetings they attend in half by combining committee and regular meetings on the same night and meeting every two weeks.

The committee meeting starts at 6:30 with the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.

The Dionne home will be back up for discussion as Councillor Chris Mayne introduced a "notice of reconsideration" at the last meeting, thwarting a vote to move the home to Strong Township near Sundridge.

Miles Peters of the Taxpayers Association and Jeff Fournier, chair of the newly formed group The Friends of the Dionne Quintuplet Home Museum will be presenting on behalf of keeping the home in North Bay, preferably at the waterfront.

Fundraising has already started.

A motion by George Maroosis and seconded by Chris Mayne wants to give the group another 30 days to firm up their proposal.

A final vote likely will take place Tuesday Feb. 21st.

There is also a staff report about a proposed second dog park, similar to the the existing dog park at Champlain Park. The locations being considered are Laurentian Playground (Carruthers Street) and Sage Road.

It's recommended that a public meeting be held to receive feedback from the community regarding the location of a second off-leash dog park.

There is also a report on the demolition of the former strip club Moe-Ze-On-Inn, and a report on a proposed 30 metre (100 foot) cell phone tower to be built at 6 Lakeshore Drive by the existing mini putt.
