Dion appoints Rota to Environmental Sustainability committee

Liberal Leader Stephane Dion has announced new roles and responsibilities for his caucus members, and Nipissing-Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota says that he is very pleased with his appointment to the Liberal Caucus committee on Environmental Sustainability.

“The environment is of paramount importance,” says Mr. Rota, “and to be one of only a handful of Liberal Members offering input to the leader on issues surrounding environmental sustainability is not only a privilege, but also a responsibility that I intend to take very seriously.”

Mr. Rota who will also continue is his capacity as Chair of the Ontario Liberal Caucus, believes that his newest appointment means great things for the people of Nipissing-Timiskaming. According to Mr. Rota, “A united and invigorated Liberal team, made up of critics and new committees, is ready to challenge the Harper government to ensure a progressive approach to issues that matter to Canadians.”

The Liberal Caucus boasts a wealth of talent and expertise, and Mr. Rota believes that Mr. Dion did an excellent job of appointing people to positions that they will excel at. “With such a dynamic combination of knowledge, experience, youthful energy and fresh ideas, we will continue to put forward an effective, responsible and robust opposition to the current minority government,” says Mr. Rota. “Furthermore, we will show Canadians that the Liberals are a vibrant, progressive alternative to the Harper regime.”
