Dave's Last Day

For the past nine years, faithfully every Monday night, Dave Whiting has kept reporters in line, and taken care of City Hall long after everyone has gone home for the day.

Tonight marked Dave’s last night as security at City Hall, as May 29th he turns 65, and he has decided to hang up the keys and relax and enjoy life with his wife, who recently retired from teaching.

Actually, Whiting won’t have much time to relax between spending time with his grandchildren and training for marathons. Whiting is an avid runner and on Sunday, during a marathon in Sudbury, he qualified for the coveted Boston Marathon.

The Monday night regulars wish Whiting all the best in retirement and in Boston at the race.
