Chief Warrant Officer Ron Bulger has his stripes changed to Captain by his son and wife during a change of Appointment Ceremony Thursday.

Chief Warrant Officer Ron Bulger relinquished his duties as 22 Wing Chief Warrant Officer, CFB North Bay Thursday to Chief Warrant Officer G.E. Laroche during a special ceremony conducted by Colonel Martin Galvin.

Galvin noted that Bulger was integral part of his transition to the post of 22 Wing Commander and noted that his efforts didn’t end on base and applauded Bulger for furthering relationships with the city and groups off base as well.

“He is a trusted and dedicated leader to all,” states Galvin while reading a long list of accomplishments that includes Relay for Life, Nipissing/Canadore sportplex, and three successful tattoos back to back.

“He is a great contribution to the base and the City of North Bay ... he gets it.”

It was a special ceremony for Bulger because his son, who is a serviceman, and wife were on hand to change his stripes. Although Bulger is leaving 22 Wing the ceremony unlike so many others was void of tears, because the CWO has been in now a commissioned Captain and will stay on in North Bay and oversee the recruitment centre.

Laroche, who has served in Afghanistan and arriving from Ottawa, says he's looking forward to working with the community.
