Motorists and bicyclists will both need to change their routes as one of the most heavily-used streets sees construction delays.

Construction of the O’Brien Street Culvert Replacement project will begin Monday.

As a result of the construction, O’Brien Street, north of Highway 17/11 by-pass, will be closed from Foster Street to Albert Avenue to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for a period of six weeks

Traffic will be detoured along Milani Road, Mary Street, Park Avenue, Shea Street, and Foster Street.

The Kinsmen Trail must also be closed and therefore users will be detoured down McKeown Avenue and Harrison Street to reconnect at the pedestrian overpass.

The contractor will be responsible to maintain access to adjacent properties and businesses within the construction area.
