The man was arrested following an investigation begun last month by the North Bay Police.

The cards had been manufactured in Southern Ontario with a credit card skimming device operating elsewhere in the province.

The original cardholders would not be aware that the cards
had been duplicated until a statement was received.

Det. Cst. Jeff Warner and Det. Cst. Barry Ramsay are the arresting officers in the case.

Over $20,000 in fraudulent transactions had been made using a number of different counterfeit credit cards.

James Howard, 37, of Cooks Mill Road, is charged with four counts of breach of an undertaking, three counts of use of counterfeit credit cards, and two counts of fraud under $5000.

He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
