This morning, shortly before 10 a.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles on Highway 11, Temagami.

A northbound Tractor Trailer Unit  lost control and crossed the centre line.  An oncoming southbound automobile avoided the truck by crossing the centre line and struck a northbound OPP cruiser head on.

The police officer was transported by ambulance to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the automobile was treated by ambulance at the scene for minor injuries, and the driver of the truck sustained no injuries.  The vehicles carried no passengers.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators and The Ministry of Transportation Enforcement Officers are assisting with this ongoing investigation.

Highway 11 was closed closed in both directions but has since reopened.

The Temagami Fire Department and The District of Nipissing Ambulance Service attended the scene.
