"Sad weekend for the family with Mom's passing, " wrote son Chris Mayne in a Facebook post on Monday.
"At 97 years young she had as full a life as anyone could wish for. Lots of great memories we will cherish forever."
Eastholme was her home in her final years and staff became friends and family said Chris, himself a city councillor.
"Rest in peace & Godspeed. Daphne Mayne 1926 - 2024."

Mayne was not only a city councillor for many years but also ran a successful travel business, Mayne Travel, with her husband Peter for over 30 years. She was born in England and attended Nipissing University in North Bay earning a BA in history and geography.
She'll be remembered on council for her energy, humour and work on behalf of ordinary working people.
Daphne’s family will receive friends at the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4th from 4 – 7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 5th at 11 am.
