It wasn't a big budget music video but performer Cory Marquardt is proud of it.

The local country singer had his new music video for the song "Smart Phone" released on Monday on YouTube.

His "Smart Phone" single, which has been out on radio stations since June, is also being released on iTunes on Tuesday.

The video was shot earlier this summer at various locations across the city including the North Bay Waterfront and the party scenes at his brother Matt Marquardt's home on Copeland.

"I think the video elaborates on what the song kind of says and what's going on these days at crazy parties.  It's a small budget video but I think we are up to par with other videos on CMT," said Marquardt.

You can also pick out a good number of local North Bayites in the video including former hockey teammates AJ Shiverdecker, Josh McCully and Nick Huard.

His brother Matt made a cameo holding up a Smart Phone and taking video of a couple making out.

Marquardt says the North Bay look and feel was important to him.

"i take with pride that I am hopefully putting North Bay on the map," said Marquardt, who enjoyed filming the performance portion of the music video the best.

"Having locals in the video especially some of my best friends, some just helped out to make the video happen.  i just felt really at home at my brothers house and there have been party's there and I think we captured that party atmosphere."

Marquardt, hopes the video gets picked up by CMT. He encourages his fans in North Bay and beyond to keep requesting his song at Country radio stations across the country.
