Cops mum on Dolphin Motel investigation

'The North Bay Police Service is conducting an active investigation at this time'

City police are at the site of the old Dolphin Motel on Lakeshore Drive this morning but are keeping details close to their vest.

"The North Bay Police Service is conducting an active investigation at this time. As the investigation is ongoing, I cannot release any additional details," said spokesman David Woolley."We have no reason to believe there is a threat to public safety at this time."

A worker at the site told BayToday that he'd heard there was a sudden death in one of the rooms.

There is police tape surrounding one of the front rooms of the motel. The beach next door is a favourite hangout of the homeless, and residents have complained in the past about garbage strewn around the property.

BayToday will update this story as details become available.
